The Curiosity "Conference" to benefit the MN PT PAC (8 contact hours) - 9/21/19

8:00 - 5:00 (8 contact hours) - Rasmussen College Brooklyn Park Campus 9/21/19

The MN PT PAC is an important ally for physical therapists in Minnesota. They work tirelessly on our behalf to promote the best interest of the PT profession through the political process at the State Capitol in St. Paul. Recently, MNPTA was successful in promoting and passing the ability for physical therapists to authorize disability parking for patients. They have also worked hard to protect PT practice from limitations or encroachment from other healthcare professions. Support from the PAC makes sure we get our message heard by lawmakers at the State Capitol. Your donations are needed to continue the success.

This “Conference” is our endeavor to try and raise funds to help support this organization which does so much for us behind the scenes and is often not supported enough by individual PTs here in Minnesota. In the interest of full disclosure, this really isn’t a conference at all. There will be no famous keynote speakers, no jaw dropping entertainment (other than Kramer getting animated and yelling about some topic we are discussing) or new earth shattering clinical research. Rather, what we aim to do is challenge our preconceptions and assumptions on various “established” topics in the PT world. We want to make each other think, we want to pique curiosity around ideas that will hopefully force us to reconsider (even just for a moment) the reasoning and foundation of what we do. We will challenge our fears and anxieties (yes PTs have these too) around topics that have long been assumed to be taboo or contraindicated (like counter-clockwise ultrasound). We will probably yell, stomp our feet and throw some mini-tantrums, some of us might even swear to make our point (we’re looking at you Bill). Most of all we will encourage the various speakers to play devil’s advocate - prompting thought, discussion, dissent and professional discord in order to challenge long held assumptions and beliefs that have existed in PT for millennia. Worst case you get free food, CE credits and the feeling you supported the MN PT PAC this year.

Registration is through the 3 Fellows website but please bring a check for $100 made out to MN PT PAC (apparently people still use checks?) to cover your course donation.

The speakers will be various clinicians with various levels of expertise, all with a passionate professional axe to grind regarding some aspect of PT clinical practice that keeps them up at night.

Just to be clear, here is what you get for your $100 donation:

  1. Profound reduction in your levels of Minnesotan PT guilt as you can know you supported the MN PT PAC in 2019

  2. Breakfast/coffee/pre-course banter

  3. Lunch (yes we are feeding you all day)

  4. Oh and yes you will get up to 8 Contact hours of CE (but you will need to suffer through the entire day if you want to claim the full amount)

  5. Code to save $25 on a future 3 Fellows CE course (although we expect some of you will try to sell this on eBay but good luck with that)

Current Speaker Lineup (don’t ask what all the letters mean - we have no idea either):

We will update the presenter lineup as we get commitments so follow us on twitter @3fellowspt (sorry, we are annoyed by Facebook) or check back here as well.

Final review: Registration is through the 3 Fellows website but please bring a check for $100 made out to MN PT PAC (apparently people still use checks?) to cover your course donation.

Cannot attend but still want to contribute. Email us and we can set up for you to sponsor a local PT student to attend. You feel good, the student learns and the PAC still get the cash. That is what we call a win-win-win.
